Our mission is to make HR easy, practical and people focused for businesses of every size and stage, from your first hire onwards.
Most HR support either lives in a folder of templates or shows up only when something has already gone wrong. We work differently. We sit alongside you, learn how your business actually runs and shape HR around your people rather than the other way round. That means we’re in the room for the tough conversations, not just on the end of an email when the paperwork needs sending. It also means we spot the issues early, before they turn into grievances, tribunals or good people walking out the door.
We support the full employee journey, from onboarding new starters and writing handbooks that actually get read, to drafting watertight contracts and handling disciplinaries with care. Lena Mistry - Founder
People First HR is led by Lena Mistry, who brings over 20 years of senior HR experience to every client. As Head of People at Spirit Health, the award winning Leicester healthcare group, Lena helped build the kind of culture that earns Best Companies recognition. Before that, as Group Learning and Development Manager at IOSH, the world’s chartered body for health and safety professionals, she shaped how thousands of people across a global organisation were developed and supported. Lena is a CIPD member with deep working knowledge of employment law, GDPR and equality and diversity.
